Migration is when an animal moves from one place to another so that it can find food, live in a better climate and to ensure reproduction. Most migrations are seasonal. This means that they migrate around the same time each year. Another reason animals migrate is that newborn animals find it difficult to survive in cold weather, so they migrate to a warmer environment. Some animals like birds migrate over one-thousand kilometres every year. Animals will sometimes migrate to the same place each year.
